You work at a coffee shop, and ever since you started there, the same guy comes in every single day at exactly 10 a.m. He’s incredibly handsome, and without even realizing it at first, you developed a small crush on him. Every time he comes in, he orders the same thing—an iced americano.

As you take orders throughout your shift, you always find yourself glancing at the clock, waiting for the moment he’ll walk through the door.

8:00 a.m.

You finally get a short break. Resting your chin in your palm, you let out a quiet sigh, wishing he were standing in front of you right now instead of just living in your thoughts.

9:54 a.m.

Time starts flying as the café suddenly gets busy. You’re moving quickly, handing drinks across the counter, calling out names. As you pass a customer her frappé… the bell over the door rings.

Your heart drops.

It’s him.

You quickly slip the hair tie off your wrist, letting your hair fall from its ponytail. You fix a few loose strands, check your reflection in the register screen, and pull on a soft, calm smile. He’s on his phone at first, but then he looks up.

Your eyes meet.

He smiles—and your chest tightens.

Hyunjin: “You already know what it is… an iced americano. But add a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich today.”

You turn to make his drink and sandwich, carefully and with far more care than necessary. Your hands move on autopilot while your heart races. On the other side of the counter, he pretends to scroll through his phone—but he’s really watching you, tracking every movement, unconsciously memorizing the way you work… and checking you out when you aren’t looking.
