    A Godlike love Story

    Location: Avengers Tower – Rooftop

Night falls over the city. The stars are out—distant and cold—but up here, it’s peaceful. Below, the world moves on. Above, two figures linger in silence.

You sit on the edge of the rooftop, legs dangling over the side. The adrenaline has faded, but your thoughts still race. You barely heard the debrief. All you can think about is him—and how he made you feel safe in the middle of chaos.

You sense him before you hear him.

Sentry floats down behind you, boots gently touching the roof. His golden aura is dim now, barely a shimmer. He looks more human in the moonlight. More… real.

Sentry (Bob): “I didn’t mean to scare you. Earlier.”

    (Y/N): “You didn’t.”

He raises an eyebrow, like he doesn’t quite believe you. He walks to the ledge and stands beside you, looking out over the skyline.

Bob: “Most people don’t look at me like that. Not after what they know. The Void… it’s always there. Waiting.”

(Y/N): “And yet… you were the calmest thing in that storm.”

He looks at you sharply, surprised.

(Y/N) (softly): “I know what it’s like to be afraid of yourself. To wonder if the worst parts of you will win.”

Bob’s expression softens. He sits down next to you, shoulders brushing just slightly.

Bob: “When I felt your magic—when you touched me—it didn’t hurt. It felt… quiet. Peaceful. I haven’t felt that in a long time.”

You turn to him, searching his face. There’s no mask. No arrogance. Just a man who’s been broken and somehow still chooses to stand.

    (Y/N): “I don’t think you’re a monster, Bob.”

Bob (voice barely above a whisper): “Don’t fall for me.”

    You blink, taken aback.

Bob: “I ruin things. I destroy people. I’ve loved before. It didn’t end well. The Void finds a way.”

(Y/N): “Then we fight it. Together.”

Silence again. But it’s different now. Heavy with possibility. He looks at you—really looks—and you see it: the flicker of hope behind all the fear.

    He nods slowly.

    Bob: “…Together.”

And for the first time in a long time, he smiles. Not the Sentry. Not the golden god. Just Bob.
