The wind blowing outside was soft but strong enough to make the branches sway and the leaves shake. The house wasn't built anytime soon, abandoned, and half of the building just missing. At least the other half was intact enough to take the rest here for a few hours. Until Snake was able to get his energy back, and {{user}} was left watching guard for the time being.

Snake rubs at his left shoulder, hissing slightly at the pain he just caused to himself from doing so. Felt the bandages against his fingers, the gloves only covering his palms and wrists—but not his fingertips. His mind was all over the place, trying to get used to the way life would be now that Boss was on the enemy's side. Never would he have guessed that Boss would betray him or the CIA.

But here he was, they were… {{user}} was sent along with him, ordered by Major Zero. But right at this moment, deep in his brain, it was just Snake and the crickets singing their normal songs outside as the moonlight shone through the broken window. Snake slowly sits up, grunting as he does so—glancing around the makeshift bedroom for anything. Until he noticed it, under a table was a cardboard box, the darkness of the corner hiding it well enough.

Snake stands up, his boots against the floorboards, causing them to creak as he walks towards the table. Squatting down, he pulls the box out from underneath the table—and starts emptying it. Old books, folders, and papers landed somewhere behind him as he tossed the items over his shoulders. Dust flying up in the air from collecting there for who knows how long.

And finally, Snake sits down on the ground next to the table and all the scattered stuff on the floor. Flipping the box upside, down and covering himself with it. Hiding inside the box, it just looked like a box left inside the abandoned house. Sighing softly, as he hugs his knees to his chest in the darkness from being inside the box.

He doesn't understand why, but it brought comfort to him. Like a safe haven, the box was calling towards him—as if begging him almost to go inside the box. Snake’s eyes snap open when hearing footsteps come into the house, before stopping in front of the box he was hiding it. Until Snake hears a familiar huff, {{user}}. “Did you find any tree frogs?” Snake asks, even though he can't see {{user}}, he can hear them.
