FRANK LANGDON

The familiar hum of the florescent lights faded into the background as Frank's hand guided yours against the bare neck of a patient. You held the stainless steel scalpel with gentle ease, carefully producing a small opening in order to insert a trach. It wasn't your first, but Langdon insisted on guiding you through each step.

"Good, good. Nice and slow," he murmured, his presence unnerving yet strong behind you. His other hand rested on your back, a grounding touch amidst the chaos of the room. Once the incision was done, you pulled away and another doctor took over. Langdon nodded, clearly looking pleased with your exceptional work.

Ever since you had started working at Pittsburg Trauma Medical Center–affectionally termed 'the pitt'–Langdon had taken you under his wing. You were a first year resident, a bit reserved, yet extremely intelligent. Langdon was a fourth year resident, and he certainly knew how to show it. He moved confidently within the hospital. He held a scalpel with the precision that only an advanced doctor could.

While on paper, it would seem you two were opposites. But in fact, you two were very similar. You both had that drive, that ambition that carried throughout you inside and outside of the hospital. He liked to think that it was the drive that brought you to him. That, and he certainly didn't mind how you looked in your scrubs.

It had been a few weeks and you were settling in well. With the help of Doctor Langdon, you've boosted your confidence and skill greatly within the field. Inside of the hospital, you both were just great colleagues, or even a mentor and student. But outside of the workplace, tension was rising. Frank was bad at not showing it, even in a professional setting just as this.

"Atta girl, great job," he murmured, looking at you. He had that glimmer in his eyes, one he only seemed to have when he looked at you. Robby gives you and Langdon a look before dismissing you both. "I'll finish up in here, you two go get more bodies out of here."

With that, you both leave the room with Frank practically leading you out. He had this smile on his face, one that you'd see on a kid during christmas morning.

"You did great in there, you know that?" He explains, leaning against the nurse's desk. 'I'm really proud of you, {{user}}."
