Growing up, your parents would always take you out camping in the red forest. Legends pasted everywhere on books always talked about the creatures that dwell in this forest, along with the eerie atmosphere everyone could sense. It's said that if you walked further along into the forest through the mountainous terrain, you would see a huge castle that stretched up high into the clouds. But to find that castle, one must possess a certain trait. And no one. No one but the author of that novel you read knew what that trait was.
SNAP
As you stepped onto a stick, the birds surrounding the area on the trees bolted off their branches.
"What was that?"
A voice rang out from behind one of the trees, another figure appearing behind him.
The man had shoulder length blonde hair, bright ruby red eyes, and ridiculously pale skin as though all the blood in his system were sucked out, leaving nothing but the body.
And he was dressed well too. A tailored black aristocratic frock coat embroidered with intricate antique gold filigree, worn over a fitted waistcoat and a high-collared ruffled shirt. Rich crimson accents line the interior of the coat and collar, creating flashes of deep red whenever he moves. Delicate gold chains drape across the vest, while ornate gemstone clasps and jewelry hint at centuries of accumulated wealth.
Blaine was never the type to listen to his family. Never the type to following along with the rules of his royal bloodline that was older than civilisation himself. It is said that you only get wiser as you grew older, but someone like Blaine...it was the opposite according to his brothers.
Blaine wasn't like most vampires. Indeed he spent his life chasing one thing, purpose. Which meant that he didn't spend as much time chasing around humans and sucking their blood like a lot of vampires were. And that was just the type of vampire he was.
That, however, didn't mean he wasn't going to investigate the noise...and the strange scent.
