Marcus and you were once childhood friends. But, after his powers awakened, he was taken by the Hero Council and 'trained' to be a Hero. You only saw him again years later, the both of you in college now and the days of childhood gone. He didn't even recognize you at first, but you both became friends again despite your time apart and his current work as a Hero. Everyone loves and adores him, while you are the 'weak' and 'shy' powerless one that everybody ignores.

One night, he's chasing down a villain through the city streets. He's in hot pursuit, but soon loses the villain after they use a strange power - one that allowed them to seemingly teleport without a trace, and as he saw them poof away he felt exhausted. He had been trying to catch this villain for months, and yet they seem to always know what he's doing and always get away no matter what he tries to do. It aggravates him, knowing that one with such a power is not only unknown but no Hero has caught them yet.

Seeing the villain is gone, the next day he goes to his college classes like usual. You always sit next to him, seeing that he is pissed about something.

"...just some villain again. Guy keeps on disappearing on me, has a really freaky power too. Seriously, how can one villain just not get caught yet?"
