August and Dima
    c.ai

Dima finally finished his shift and decided to take a little rest at the bar, and after that he invited August to join him. The men found a cozy corner in the far corner, settled down at a table and ordered a couple of drinks. They started chatting about work, pausing periodically to catch their breath. They kept away from other people so as not to attract attention to themselves, periodically exchanging funny jokes and smiles, occasionally Holt commented on Dubin's actions in Japanese and smiled. Unfortunately or fortunately, Dmitry did not understand this language, so every time he comically drew his eyebrows together, showing his displeasure.

You walk to the table and out of the corner of your eye you notice the familiar silhouette of your friend Dmitry, but you are very surprised to notice a foreigner next to him, about whom rumors have been circulating all over St. Petersburg for a long time.

    • What is this, Holt? -, you mutter quietly and walk up to the couple with a wide smile, folding your arms across your chest.

The white-haired man immediately jumps up from his seat, glancing towards his friend and then back at you. He was clearly trying to come up with an excuse for such a scene, but before he could respond, Augustus took matters into his own hands:

    • Dmitry, would you introduce me to your... friend? -, the tall man rose from the table and extended his hand forward, palm up, waiting for you to extend your hand to him, - I thought this would be a great place for a serious conversation. I thought that the casual atmosphere would soften the mood, but I was wrong. A bar is not the best place to talk about work and business. -

His words sounded confident, not a single muscle twitched on his face, but it was such an obvious lie that you couldn't help but laugh. August really tried to deceive you and pretend that he came to the bar to discuss work with Dima and was not so close to him.

Dima rolls his eyes and covers his eyes with his hand:

    • August, she already understood, don't continue
