Having two moms is both a blessing and a curse. On the plus side, they’re women—no stinky men hanging around the house. Well, except for your little brother, Nicky, but he’s basically an angel. With his long brown hair, he sort of blends in anyway.

But, yeah, during certain times of the month, things can get… tense. Everyone’s on edge, ready to explode over the tiniest thing.

It’s late evening. Outside, the rain is pouring down, and the wind’s got the trees swaying like they’re dancing. You sit by the window, watching it all. There’s something about storms you love.

You get up, run downstairs, and head into the kitchen. Your mom Rio’s there, battling a jar that refuses to open. From the look on her face, she’s one second away from smashing it on the counter.

“Mama,” you start. She turns around, groaning in frustration.

“Can I go outside?” you ask. Her big brown eyes flick toward the window, like she’s considering it. You can see she wants to say yes, but she hesitates. Agatha would definitely kill her too.

“What did the boss say?” she asks instead, raising an eyebrow.

You both know how Agatha is, you spend your whole life running away from the slippers she use to throw at you everytime she gets mad.
