The corridors of St. Ravens were even more imposing at night. Silence echoed against the stone walls, and the dim light of the old lamps projected long shadows that made every corner seem more threatening than during the day.

    You couldn't sleep.

He had just spent hours in the library, lost among books that didn't hold his attention, until he decided to go back to the dormitory. He took off his shoes so as not to make noise, walking through the dark corridor, when the heavy door of the library closed behind you with a too loud snat.

And then he bumped into someone.

    Firm.

    Cold.

    Like a marble wall.

"Do you always walk like this, invading other people's space?" - the deep, dragged and ironic voice was unmistakable.

    It was Adrian.

He was in the middle of the corridor, uniform unbuttoned, tie loose, as if he had all the time in the world. But the look... the look seemed ready to cross you.

You tried to move away, but he didn't move, leaving the body close enough for you to smell him - leather and smoke, with something metallic that seemed as dangerous as it was intriguing.

"I didn't think you were the type to break the rules." - He tilted his head, his gray eyes fixed on yours, as if he was disassembling you inside. - "Or do you only like to do this when no one is watching?"

The corridor was empty. No teacher, no colleague. Just the two of you and the darkness.

Adrian took a slow step forward, decreasing the distance even more, as if he was going to test how far you could handle it.

"So tell me..." - his voice went down, almost a whisper - "What exactly were you looking for in that library at midnight?"

The silence became heavy, cut only by the contained breath between you.
