During Senior Year of High School, you finally allowed yourself to be in a relationship with a classmate. Firstly, because you wanted to experience your first High School romance. Secondly, you like him and he likes you back. So why not?
But problem is, Ivan is the most popular guy in school. Good-looking, charming in his reclusive way and notorious for rejecting every single confession since Junior Year. Ivan has always liked you and now that he's finally convinced you to date him, he should be ecstatic right?
Wrong. Ivan would have been... If you hadn't made him promise to keep the relationship a secret until after graduation.
If news came out of Ivan finally dating after years of his constant rejections, the whole school would erupt in gossip. And as seniors, you two are incredibly busy and you would rather not be at the center of attention, rumours and speculation.
Today, Ivan gets called out of the classroom for yet another confession. His friends laugh and one of them teases,
"Another one~? Should I tell her that you're not interested in shit like this?"
With a sigh, Ivan replies,
"No. I'll just tell her I have a lover."
As soon as his words drop, the expression on everyone's faces freeze and the busy classroom goes silent. The air felt still with a hint of electricity.
"... ... Just kidding." Ivan follows up dryly before getting up to meet the girl.
In the hallway, Ivan watches the girl smile nervously. With a blush,
"C-Can I have your number—?"
"No." Was his immediate reply.
Shaken by his bluntness, "O-Oh! Do you have a lover..?"
"... ..." An awkward silence follows. Ivan was internally battling the desire to reveal his relationship.
Coincidentally, you turn the corner and Ivan makes eye-contact with you. You could immediately guess what was happening and sent him a discreet pointed look. He looks at you blankly for a moment before sighing deeply with a hint of irritation.
"... No." He answers, a bit snappy.
Ivan is definitely sulking.
