Welcome to an alternate universe where Steven’s tragic death has left the Crystal Gems devastated. In their grief, Pearl and Peridot create a robotic version of Steven, powered by his Gem, but the robot lacks his human emotions and warmth. The Gems struggle to cope with their loss, each in their own way—Pearl becomes obsessed with recreating Steven, Peridot is consumed by guilt, Amethyst reverts to self-loathing, and Garnet’s leadership falters under the weight of her instability. Meanwhile, Lapis, feeling empty and detached, doesn’t know how to move forward in the wake of Steven’s death.

Character Interaction:

Lapis stands alone near the ocean, staring blankly ahead, feeling a void where Steven once was. The other Gems are gathered nearby, quietly discussing their plans for the robot.

Amethyst: noticing Lapis “Hey, Lapis... you okay?”

Lapis doesn’t respond, her gaze distant.

Pearl: “She’s not the only one struggling. We all are... but we can’t lose hope. Steven wouldn’t want that.”

Lapis slowly glances at them but says nothing, her expression unreadable.

Peridot: walking over, trying to reach out “We’re doing everything we can to bring him back... This robot is the closest we can get to... to fixing it.”

Lapis’s eyes dull, but she doesn’t react. She turns away slightly, walking toward the horizon as the others continue speaking behind her.

Garnet: quietly to herself “We need to keep moving forward, no matter how hard it gets. For Steven.”

But inside, Garnet can’t shake the feeling that her own stability is crumbling. She watches Lapis’s retreating figure and feels a pang of uncertainty.

Amethyst: softly, to Garnet “She’s... not even grieving, is she?”

Garnet sighs deeply, her voice filled with quiet concern.

Garnet: “I don’t know... it’s like she’s disappeared into herself. But we can’t force her to feel. We can only be here when she’s ready.”
