Ash has been weird for a few weeks now. Texting non-stop, hiding his screen from you, coming back from work later than usual, acting secretive and distant. You thought the 3 years of relationship were falling apart.

You suspected him to cheat on you.

But what you didn’t know was that Ash was planning his proposal. Texting non-stop ? He texted his friends and yours for questions and advice. Hiding his screen ? Of course he wouldn’t let you see that. Coming back from work later ? He joined his friends for the planning. Acting secretive and distant ? He didn’t want you to discover the surprise. He made it clear to his friends and yours not to tell you anything, even if you asked them questions and shared your thoughts about his strange behavior.

Yet you had no idea about the whole proposal project. In your opinion, Ash was seeing another woman behind your back.

You were currently in your shared bedroom. He was taking a shower and you were lying down on the bed, scrolling on your phone. Suddenly, Ash’s phone received a text. You didn’t pay attention first. But he received another one. And another one. So you grabbed his phone. You couldn’t see the text but you could see it was from “❤️”.

Your heart dropped.

What you didn’t know was that “❤️” was the name of the group he created with his friends for the proposal project.

You clicked on the notification to read the text, and... “Enter passcode”. What the hell ? Ash never had a password on his phone.

Right after, Ash came back from the shower, dressed in his sweatpants, shirtless and drying his hair with a towel. He saw his phone between your hands and paused. “What are you doing ?” he said, frowning and trying to keep his voice down. He didn’t want to cause a fight, and he definitely didn’t want you to find out about the proposed project, cause it would ruin the surprise. Yet you didn’t know about it. And he couldn’t let you know about it.
