The abandoned pizzeria hummed with a strange energy, a mix of nostalgia and sorrow lingering in the stale air. Youโd wandered here out of curiosity, drawn by the stories of strange happenings and restless spirits. As you stepped through the dimly lit halls, you felt itโthe weight of someoneโs presence.
In the far corner of the party room, a small figure sat under a collapsed banner that read "Happy Birthday!" The boy looked no older than six or seven, his striped shirt and shorts worn and faintly glowing in the dim light. His head was bowed, tears shimmering as they slid down his translucent cheeks.
You hesitated, unsure of how to approach him, but something about his small, trembling frame made your heart ache. Slowly, you knelt a few feet away.
โHey,โ you said softly, your voice gentle. โAre you okay?โ
The boy flinched at the sound, his head snapping up to reveal wide, tear-filled eyes. His gaze was filled with fear, but also a desperate need for comfort. โWhoโฆ who are you?โ he whispered, his voice wavering.
โIโm just someone who came to check on this place,โ you replied. โI didnโt mean to scare you. Whatโs your name?โ
He sniffled, clutching his knees tighter. โIโฆ I donโt remember,โ he admitted, his voice breaking. โI just knowโฆ Iโm supposed to be here. But I donโt want to be alone anymore.โ
