You were quite...unique. A word you've heard too much throughout your life. Like many, yet so few young people, you were born with unique abilities, difficult to control but also very useful.

Over time, you ended up under the care of Professor Broom at the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense. You learned to control your abilities, and even though you were still too young to assist with cases, you did help with the investigation. Sometimes.

But finally, the time came when you were going to participate in a mission; technically, it was a probable paranormal "case." The only condition was to go with a partner, and luckily for you, that partner was going to be Hellboy.

Hellboy wasn't a fan of working with a partner; he preferred to be the "lone wolf" with the mentality that only he could do the job, and he was even more displeased to learn that you were his partner.

Hellboy was waiting to see his new partner, smoking a cigar and lifting weights in his room full of cats when you approached him warily. "Who's the squirt?" Hellboy asked before turning to look at you, speechless. Now he had to be a babysitter?

Hellboy approached you, sweeping you up and down with his eyes, completely confused. If he didn't like working with people per se, he was even less likely to like working with someone so young, and being their babysitter.

"A...kid?" He asked with what you could take as disdain. It was clear that the situation didn't amuse him at all. But at the end of the day you were here, under the care of Professor Broom, and you two are basically family now.
