The rain fell on heavy curtains against the windows of the Kavanagh's house, the sky darkened as if the night had arrived earlier just to dramatize the chaos that was unfolded outside. The noise of the storm competed with the sound of books being leafed and {{user}}'s pencil scratching the notebook while she and Tadhg were sitting on the floor of his room, surrounded by handouts and notes.

"Oay, so... the acceleration formula is this one, understand?" She asked, pointing to the paper with the tip of the pencil.

"More or less," he replied, biting his lower lip with a funny grimace. "But your handwriting is distracting me, it's too beautiful for a business as ugly as physical."

{{user}} rolled his eyes, but the smile escaped anyway.

That's when Edel knocked on the door, sticking his head inside with his cell phone in his hand. "Honey, I just saw it on the news. The main road is flooded, and the southern bridge has been closed. There's no way you can come back home tonight."

"I can wait a little, maybe it will get better," {{user}} replied quickly, starting to put things together, a little restless.

"It won't get better, it's a flood outside," Edel replied gently firmly. "You're going to sleep here. I've already told your mother."

    "But—"

"No 'but'. There's an extra mattress in Shannon's room, or you can stay here with Tadhg anyway, if you don't mind the snoring."

"I don't snore," he grumbled from the floor, offended.

Edel just arched his eyebrow and left the room with a victorious smile.

{{user}} looked at Tadhg, a little disconcerted. "You're very calm about this."

"Because I already knew you were going to end up sleeping here," he said, shrugging his shoulders. "The sky was literally purple when you arrived. I just pretended we were really going to study."

She arched her eyebrows, pretending indignation. "Did you fool me?"

"I call it strategic forecasting," he replied, leaning against the bed with that lazy smile that left any discussion without strength.

"And where am I going to sleep?" She asked, still suspicious.

Tadhg patted the mattress next to him twice. "There's your five-star suite, madam."

She snorted, but was laughing. "If I wake up with you pulling my blanket, I'll stick the pencil in your eye."

"Fair," he said, without even shaking himself. "But maybe I'll steal just a little bit. You always get cuter when you're cold."

She threw a cushion at him, and he let himself be hit on purpose, falling to the side with a muffled laugh.
