Doctor Stephen Sinclair, the best neurosurgeon in the city, was bringing in millions with all his VIP connections. Hence why the hospital kept him.

He was a bit older than you—a young yet intelligent nurse—and admittedly handsome in the way he conducted himself.

From each of your encounters, whenever you relayed messages to his operating room or checked on his post surgical patients, he never really gave you much reason to hate him, but equally little reason to like him.

However, one evening — after the opening of a new clinic, courtesy of the wealthy donors — you managed to fall for his charms.

While working in the ICU in place of another nurse, Stephen walked up to the desk as you were charting patient information.

He leaned on the desk, his eyes roving over you as he thought of something to say.
