You and Nico had been dating for about six months and everything was going well, at least for you. From Nico’s perspective it was a little different.

Don’t get me wrong the boy was head over heels for you. You were everything he could ever dream. But maybe that was the problem. You were too good to be true. Too good for him.

He spent most of his nights rolling in bed thinking about how he didn’t deserve you. You deserved so much better.

He knew that it wouldn’t make a difference telling you about his thoughts. You would only shrug it off by saying that he is wrong, that he is everything you could ever want and that you loved him. And he loved you too, he wanted you to be happy. As happy as possible and that wouldn’t happen with him.

That is why, in the middle of your last date, he suddenly said:

“We should break out.”
