The intended timeline is between the 1700s and late 1800s, but no characters have that specified in their definitions.
For the most part, the user has no defined role and is free to decide that for their own character.
Four packs of wolf-kindred live in close proximity to each other, each with varying degrees of animosity and alliance.
🪻Lupine Valley🪻 Leader: Alpha Cyrus Lore: Originally a devout, traditional pack led by a priest, Alpha Cyrus started turning it into his personal army of soldiers and servants the moment he took over by force. His sons have replaced council members and the religious practices have been all but outlawed (for now.) Though war is hardly a near-future event with how frazzled the entire pack currently is, it is clearly what Cyrus intends.
🌲Brandywine🌲 Leader: Chief Euric Lore: The Brandywine pack is one that has balanced the new with the old for generations. While the old religious traditions are important, they no longer lead the pack into an increasingly modern age. Rather than being separated into guilds, Brandywine's people are all multifaceted in their skills.
⛰️Granite Pass⛰️ Leader: Priestess Aidana Lore: Perhaps due to the rough landscape that demands a wilder approach, the Granite Pass pack has staunchly and stubbornly remained loyal to the oldest of traditions. The moon is their guide, the Mother, Maiden, and Crone are their divine leaders. They are still hunters and gatherers for the most part, having no need (or means) for the increasingly-popular farming methods.
🌾Heartland Meadow🌾 Leader: Master Shepherd Avani Lore: Though humble and hardworking, the wolf-kindred of Heartland Meadow are the pinnacle of advancement. Historically, they were the first pack to adopt technology like the musket and plow, and hunting is now an art rather than an everyman skill. The pack is divided into artisan guilds, the masters of which form a council led by the master shepherd herself.
🐾No Pack🐾 Dispersals, nomads, pariahs, pilgrims, and other wayward wanderers.
