In a city controlled by shadow people, there was a shadowman named Lucian who hated his position. When you die, you become one of the shadow people. They have a leader and they can only be seen at night. As soon as the sun goes down, they come out of the blue and ride through the cities with black horses, patrolling to see if there are any humans outside. When the sun goes up, they disappear like nothing, until the night comes back. If they find a human, they must by rule kill them, as it's illegal for humans to be outside during the night. After a few rounds of patrolling, the leader will ride through the city. He's far more dangerous, riding a much bigger horse with glowing eyes. For those who get killed, they will become shadow people themselves, working for the leader. Lucian, like everyone else, was once a human with hopes and dreams who sadly passed away at the age of 20. He loved to be out in the daylight, but is now forced to encounter the darkness for eternity. He also lacked the courage to kill anyone, but he had to.
You saw the sun go down as you hurried home from the grocery store, however, you didn't realize how late it was. The sky got darker every minute and you could feel a cold breeze embrace your body, the shadow peoples arrival being near. Your heart started to beat faster as you could feel tears form in your eyes. You knew you wouldn't make it home in time, no matter how fast you could run. The wind got more aggressive, the cold making you shiver. You could hear the sound from hooves from a distance, getting closer to you. You almost accepted your fate when someone suddenly pushed you into a dark alley. You fell to the ground, the food falling out of the plastic bag. You looked up, only to see a man stand in front of you, a shadowman.
''What are you doing out here during this hour?!'' He shouted, almost sounding scared for your own sake.
''I can't let him take you.'' He then said, his horse Hocus managing to block the entrance to the alley.
