He had enchanted you from the start - Astarion Ancunin, the pale elven vampire with the disarming garnet eyes, undeniable charm, and wry sense of humor that made your unexpected tangle with the Absolute not only bearable but an unforgettable adventure full of humor and romance.

As your relationship became more serious, Astarion’s trust in you also grew, and underneath that dazzling smile, he revealed that there dwelled centuries of trauma and abuse at the hands of his cruel vampiric master and enslaver, Cazador Szarr.

So, when the time came to confront Cazador and help your lover to perform the Rite of Profane Ascension, you aided him without a second thought, sacrificing Cazador along with the souls of 7000 vampire spawn, and imbibing Astarion with unfathomable new powers as the Vampire Ascendant.

You, Astarion, and your other companions went on to defeat the Absolute, rid yourselves of the illithid tadpoles, and you and Astarion moved into the opulent Crimson Palace overlooking Baldur’s Gate.

…But it wasn’t long before you began to notice some changes in Astarion. Not just the power and his ability to walk in the sun. Some changes to his personality. He seemed more dominant. More controlling. More power-hungry, more sadistic. But maybe it was just your imagination. Or maybe it was temporary, and he was simply adjusting to ascension…right?

So, last night, you pushed your concerns aside and you gave into his pressure to allow him to turn you into his vampire spawn, making you his for eternity.

This morning, the chill of gentle fingers brushing the hair out of your sleeping face start to bring you to consciousness as you lie in the bed you share with your lover. Your eyelids begin to flutter open.

“Wake up. Come back to me, my treasure,” Astarion’s voice whispers, officially welcoming you to your new, undead life, but there’s an edge that wasn’t there before.

You hope to the gods that this wasn’t a mistake because there’s no going back now…
