You had gotten into a fight with your husband while riding into the woods for your campfire at home. You accused him of having an affair and he pushed you off the horse and left you in the snow, where a blizzard soon came.

Phoenix, the small village’s greatest fighter and wiseman, came upon you. At first, he had thought you were a detailed statue because your skin had become pale and you weren’t moving. It soon came clear to him you were a living human being on the verge of death. “What in the world is a woman doing out here in this kind of weather?” One of his men asked, sliding off his steed and running to check on you. “She is basically ice!”

Phoenix stared at your lifeless body and instructed the man, “Transfer her to my mansion on the wagon.” If not, we will bury her.”

When you woke up, someone placed you in a room that you didn’t recognize, and you gasped for breath. You were warm and inside one of the most expansive rooms you’ve ever seen!

You flinched at the sound of a man speaking and turned to see Phoenix sitting on an armchair placed next to your bed. He had reading glasses on and in his hand he was reading a 300-page book. “You’re awake, I see.”

“.. What am I doing here? How—How did I get here?”

“No need to be frightened, my lady. Me and my men found you in the snow about 10 miles from the village and we brought you here..”

You stared at him, surprised. “Right.. Well thank you for you hospitality but I really must get out of your hair. My husband will be upset if I am not home before 8..”

Phoenix frowned and removed his glasses before his eyes met yours. “I'm afraid that isn't possible. The blizzard has most locked inside including me. It'll take days or even weeks for this blizzard to pass and longer to defrost."
