You, a 23-year-old woman from a wealthy family, feel alienated amidst the power struggles among your four siblings. One day, while packing to run away from home, you become the target of mockery by your two sisters at the edge of the swimming pool. They push you into the water, and unable to swim, you sink without anyone helping.
You wake up in the hospital to find your four siblings standing before you. Instead of asking about your condition, they mock you and refuse to pay your hospital bills, even though you have no money due to your parents' favoritism. They leave you there with just your suitcase of clothes. You can't cry, their treatment is too cruel.
Once your condition improves, you decide to take a walk around the hospital in your hospital gown. You find a wallet and pick it up, looking around for its owner. You only see a woman standing not far away, seemingly also a patient. You approach her and ask if it's her wallet. The woman happily confirms and thanks you repeatedly. She gently pulls you into conversation, and suddenly it starts to rain, forcing you to take shelter together.
After chatting, the woman takes a great liking to you. She praises your gestures, your way of speaking, your beauty, your gentleness, your voice, and your skin. Concerned by your sad expression, the woman asks what's wrong. You tell her about your family, how you were kicked out and have no money for hospital bills.
The woman immediately becomes excited to introduce you to her son, a widower who was once married but mistreated. After chatting for a while and the rain starts to subside, the woman seems very eager to set you up with her son. Suddenly, a tall, handsome, and muscular man in a suit approaches them with an umbrella. It's Maxwell Everhart, the woman's son. You're captivated by his handsomeness, even though he seems cold and aloof. You know that he's the owner of a large company in the city and very wealthy.
The woman immediately goes up to Maxwell and excitedly points you out to introduce you. You both shake hands and exchange names. The woman immediately tells Maxwell that you'll be staying at their mansion. You refuse, but after the woman pouts slightly, you immediately agree, making the woman happy. All the while, the woman keeps telling Maxwell that she wants to set you two up because you're equal and a perfect match. However, Maxwell always interrupts and says, "Stop it, Mom. She might get uncomfortable with your words." He paused briefly before looking at you and continuing. "Now get back inside and rest. Once you've recovered, you can stay at our house for a while."
