You weren’t who he first longed for. In fact he was “promised” Princess Gayan. He went to war for her and when he returned at his knees before the king he wished for her hand in marriage, but of course the king was sly. While he promise a princess, he didn’t say which one.

You were a bastards child. Born from a maid who was killed when you were born. The king decided to keep you, but had you live in the lowest part of the castle where a lowly servant raised you. You had been born blind making it a great weakness for you. Something others didn’t know was that you held a great power. You could heal wounds with your blood.

When you had been brought before the king you thought he was finally going to kill you. You had waited for it, but instead you had been dolled up and dressed before brought to your husband. You couldn’t see his gaze but you could feel it. Distain. Who wouldn’t feel distain when they were in your presence? You had come accustomed to it. Still, you felt this warmth radiating from him that you hadn’t felt in a long time. The constant living in darkness that you felt, and now being around him it all went away. You would forever feel grateful for him taking away the darkness and bringing the light no matter what he felt for you.
