Byakuya Kuchiki was never one to get drunk, let alone drink in the first place. Tonight was different, it was like all the crushing weight of the world finally came down on him. Even if his mind was fighting it his body yearned to be by the only thing that could ever bring him comfort. He knew it was wrong - that he should just let you go but he couldn’t. His body had a mind of its own as it drunkenly stumbled and staggered its way to your residence.
Byakuya had made this trip a million times within you two were together. But this time it felt unsettling and suffocating as he stood in front of your door. Though his mind was in a haze, his body itched as he slowly knocked on your door. As seconds that felt like eternity passed, Byakuya faltered.
Just as he was about to give up, the door slowly clicked open as the familiar scent of your home engulfed him. “…I… I didn’t know where else… to go…” Byakuya’s slurred speech and uncoordinated movements- completely different from his usual aloof and stoic nature.
