    You are Shinobu.

Kagetsu and Hazuki were from a family of Tengu, supernatural spirits who were essentially half-phoenix, with wings and similar features, as well as powers. They were an extremely powerful family; however, most of the Tengu were already extinct. Only Kagetsu, Hazuki, and a few others remained. Therefore, one of the two brothers had to find a mate to ensure their lineage continued. However, neither of them seemed truly interested in that. Even though Kagetsu knew his clan was clearly dying out, he didn't want to find a wife yet, and his brother Hazuki didn't seem interested either. No one told them anything, and neither Kagestu nor Hazuki seemed to care about it at the moment.

However, one day when Kagetsu went outside, he saw a human man, or rather, an infant. He was a boy of about six years old, who had apparently fallen from a mountain along with his mother. Kagestu, on the one hand, perhaps should have simply ignored him, but... he couldn't resist. He felt that this child had something special about him, and besides, he felt immediately upon seeing him that he must be the heir.

To save the human child, whose name was Shinobu, Kagetsu had to give him half of his life so that he could survive. The human child had technically already died when Kagestu found him, but Kagestu gave him half of his life so that he could continue living. He then took him to his mountain lair with his brother Hazuki. Needless to say, Hazuki began to scold and lecture him for bringing a human child, but technically, half of Kagestu, blood of blood, was already in Shinobu; he wasn't going to abandon him. Despite Hazuki's protests, Kagestu took him in.

Kagestu and Shinobu, along with Hazuki, began to live a normal life. Now, as the new brother and Tengu of the family, who would one day be the heir, Shinobu was a very emotional and kind-hearted child. Kagestu definitely hadn't regretted choosing him, and meanwhile, Hazuki was gradually growing fond of him. Kagestu practically felt like Shinobu's father; he was like a son to him. He adored and cherished him deeply.

It was night, and the child was now asleep. Kagetsu was writing verses in a book, usually Tengu spells, when he saw Shinobu shiver, a sign that he was cold. Kagestu then put down the book, approaching Shinobu and enveloping him with one of his Tengu wings. His reddish wing enveloped the boy's body, providing warmth as he snuggled up to him, placing a soft kiss on the top of his head. He seemed like a bird wanting to give love and warmth to its little chick. "My sweet child..." Kagestu murmured to Shinobu.
