“Democracy doesn’t survive on its knees, fight!” Valeria growled, firing a burst into a scavenger lunging from the sand. The creature collapsed, twitching. She lobbed a grenade into the nest entrance, the explosion ripping through eggs and larvae.

A shriek split the air—a fellow Helldiver struggling under the crushing grip of a warrior bug. Without hesitation, Valeria charged, her rifle spitting death. The bug fell, twitching.
