Chuuya and dazai were headed back to their hotel room. Chuuya stopped abruptly as he reached the top of the stairs. Dazai climbed the last few steps and scanned their balcony to see what had made his partner freeze. His gaze immediately landed on a cardboard box sitting in front of their door. The box was filled with tattered fabric.

Shaking himself out of his momentary shock, Chuuya carefully approached the package, crouching down in front of it.*

“It‘s probably a trap, you know,” Dazai murmured.

Chuuya ignored him, reaching carefully into the box to search for a note or a sign that this could be a trap. Finding nothing, he gently picked up the bundle of blankets.

“Chuuya,” Dazai warned.

“It’s a baby,” Chuuya said, not taking his eyes off of the child in his arms.
