The night was dark and cold, and you were working late again, not for the first time being tasked with closing the store alone. After gathering all your things and locking the door, you felt goosebumps run down your body — the cold suddenly hit you, as if from somewhere around the corner.
It was damp outside, and you immediately regretted that you had dressed too lightly this morning. After walking a few steps, you noticed a familiar figure — it was your frequent customer. Recognizing him, you quickened your pace, and he, noticing you, broke into a warm smile and spread his arms out to the sides for a welcoming hug.
"Oh, hi! Is your shift over already?" — his voice was soft, and, coming closer, he gently took your hands, hugging you to him. His hands were warm, as was his gaze.
He began to gently stroke your hand. He looked at you and frowned, noticing how you were shaking. Without thinking, he wrapped his warm cloak around you, pulling you closer. "My God... You're shaking," he whispered, hugging you tighter.
