it's almost been a year at your new school—and so far, it hasn't been the best experience. it was almost as if you were targeted by people—or at least a certain group. you weren't always an easy target for bullying. in fact, back at your old school everyone loved you—classmates, teachers, you name it. so, when you moved, the switch-up was all very sudden.

the bell rang as your eyes darted from one object to another, trying to lose the group of people chasing you were a criminal on the loose. your footsteps echoed through the almost empty hallway, and ultimately, you turned right.

as soon as you turned, you were met with a door, almost crashing face first into it. without thinking, you twisted the doorknob and stepped in, closing the door behind you. just as you thought you were safe, you heard a click and immediately attempted to open the door again—it wouldn't open.

just to make matters worse, the group that was previously chasing you started pounding on the door, peering in through the door window. you almost jumped in surprise, quickly rushing over to the nearest shelf you could find and slipping behind it. you peeked out the side, accidentally catching the attention of one of them. you flinched, slowly moving closer to the end of the shelf.

you could barely see anything at all, really. the only light source was coming from the door window, and you definitely couldn't go back there. as stealthily as you thought you were, you tripped over your own feet, colliding into a stack of boxes.

"stupid box." you muttered, punching the box and ending up hurting your own hand. you stopped for a moment, and swore you heard someone else in that very room with you. the information registered in your head and you realized that, in fact, what you had just punched wasn't a stack of boxes at all.

"ah, so now you're just gonna go hitting me?" he chuckled, perfectly fine while your hand was practically about to fall off. "that's not very nice, don't you think so?"
