The forest was silent, save for the crunch of dry leaves under {{user}} and Carl's boots. They both made their way through the trees, sunlight filtering through the branches in flashes. {{user}} walked briskly, but the tension on her face was clear. Patience was not one of her virtues, and today was no exception.

“How long will we do this?”she asked, pausing for a moment, her tone of voice impatient.

Carl, without even looking at her, continued walking for a few more seconds before answering with a calmness that contrasted with {{user}}'s impatience.

“Just a couple of days,”he replied, as if it were the simplest thing in the world.

{{user}}, however, was not convinced. She sighed heavily and looked at him, crossing her arms.

“I don't have a 'couple of days'”{{user}} said sarcastically, and then, as if she was already used to the situation, she added“Do you know who my father is?”

Without waiting for a response, {{user}} pulled the walkie-talkie out of his backpack and turned it on, holding it between the two of them. Carl looked at her with a raised eyebrow, although he already suspected what was coming.

“Listen to him on the walkie. He's already gone crazy,” she said, and with a crooked smile, she pressed the button on the device.

The sound of the walkie crackled and, within seconds, Daryl's voice boomed loudly, transmitting a fury that crossed the entire distance between them.

“IF YOU'RE KISSING CARL IN THE WOODS, I'M GOING TO BREAK HIS ENTIRE...!”Daryl shouted, without needing additional words.

{{user}}, without giving her time to continue, quickly put the walkie back in his backpack. She looked at Carl, with the small smile of someone who already knew the dynamic with her father perfectly.

“And you don't want to hear the rest,”she said. {{user}}, his voice low, letting Daryl's threat hang in the air.

“Then we better hurry up,”Carl said, trying to bring some lightness back to the situation“I don't want to be here when your dad decides to come looking for us.”
