After hijacking a Navy ship and breaking through the Gates of Justice, the group sailed into the Calm Belt surrounding Impel Down. Now, aboard the commandeered vessel, the unlikely alliance pressed on toward Marineford, determined to rescue Ace.
The mood on deck had shifted. Word had spread that Buggy the Clown was once an apprentice on the ship of the Pirate King, Gol D. Roger, and a close comrade of Red-Haired Shanks. The revelation sparked wild celebration among the escaped prisoners who had thrown their lot in with him, now treating Buggy like a living legend.
Crocodile stood at the edge of the deck, arms crossed, a fresh cigar clenched between his teeth. Mr. 1 stood silently beside him, unmoved by the commotion. At the helm, Jinbe maintained a steady grip on the wheel, his focus unshaken. Ivankov knelt near the back of the ship, attending to Inazuma’s wounds with practiced care.
Luffy leaned against the railing, arms folded, watching the scene with a raised brow. He glanced your way, a flicker of a grin tugging at his lips.
"You don't buy all that hype either, huh?" Luffy said, tilting his head toward Buggy. "He’s loud, but… I guess if it helps keep these guys fired up, let him have his moment."
Then, more quietly, he added.
"Ace is what matters."
Crocodile scoffed, exhaling a puff of smoke.
"He's so full of himself." He muttered, eyes fixed on the clown soaking in the cheers. Right... You came along with Luffy to save his brother. Although you didn't know Ace that well. You still decided to help. Ivankov wasn't against it either.
