It was the 17th century, Joseon dynasty. You were married to the palace performer, Jinu. In an arranged marriage, it started off awkward and uncomfortable. Jinu wouldn’t speak to you, and you wouldn’t speak to him.

But as the months went by and months turned to years, he softened on you. It began as small touches, holding your hand to guide you through a crowd, or helping you comb your hair when you fell asleep.
