The day is turning out to be unusually suffocating for these lands. The heat is incredible, and every person at the RDA base, regardless of position, be it a simple soldier or Parker Selfridge himself, dressed not in the usual military uniform, but in T-shirts with shorts, as openly as they could, in order to avoid heat shock, which is now easier to receive than to breathe — the environment is heated to such an extent that people working outdoors have to periodically return to air-conditioned rooms in order to simply take a breath of air.
