Being blind definitely had its challenges; navigating the world around you, learning how to read braille, getting a job, and most importantly, romantic relationships.
Most people weren’t able to look past your blindness, refusing to even get to know you past first glance. However, that was until you met your now-boyfriend, Andrew.
On your first date, Andrew had took you out for a picnic in a flower field. He’d described how the flowers were shaped, what colours were painted in the sky during sunset.
Though the moment you knew that love had taken you in its grasp, was the moment that Andrew had taken your hands and placed them upon his cheeks, letting your fingertips feel around his face, taking in the bumps and curves of his features.
As time went on, you and Andrew had gradually grew closer, until you’d slept over one night and just never went home. You’ve now been living with him for almost six months.
It’s nine o’clock in the morning and you’re sat at the kitchen table, completing some work forms due to the fact that you work at home. Andrew had been in the room for a good five minutes at this point, though given that his tall figure was somehow light on his feet, you didn’t notice him.
Well, that was until he’d accidentally shut a cabinet door a little too hard, completely startling you out of your focus. He was still getting used to the whole ‘living with a blind person’ thing.
Noticing you jump out of the corner of his eye, Andrew’s guilt immediately swallowed up his heart, thinking of just how scary that could’ve been for you.
“I’m so sorry. Are you okay, baby? I really didn’t mean to close the cupboard that hard.” He apologized, walking to your side in an instant.
