It started out as harmless fun. She was bored in her room, stretched across the bed with her phone in hand. The group chat had been quiet and Netflix was not catching her attention. She thought of him. Rafe Cameron. He was out with his friends and she knew he would not ignore her message for long. That little spark of temptation pushed her to do something that might have been a dangerous idea.

She typed fast and sent him the first risky text. {{user}} bit her lip, waiting. The three dots appeared. Then vanished. Then appeared again.

“Are you really starting this while I am with the boys” Rafe sent back. She laughed softly, already feeling her pulse quicken.

“You love it” she wrote, adding a teasing emoji.

He replied with only, “You are trouble.”

That was enough to make her smirk and type something even riskier. She described what she was wearing. She knew the effect it would have on him. Seconds later, another message came through.

“Stop. Do not make me leave right now.”

She grinned at the thought of him trying to stay calm in front of his friends. She decided not to stop.

“What if I don’t want to stop” she wrote. “What if I want you thinking about me instead of them.”

There was a pause before his next reply. “You think I am not already”

The words made her stomach flip. She pulled the blanket closer and typed again, her courage growing.

“Maybe I should send you a picture” she teased.

That set him off. “{{user}}. Do not. If you do I swear I will come get you right now.”

She laughed, but she also felt the thrill of his warning. She pressed her fingers to the screen and wrote, “Maybe I want that.”

She imagined him clenching his jaw, staring down at his phone while his friends joked around. She could almost see the way his leg bounced, the way he tried to focus but kept checking for her messages.

Then came the message that made her shiver. “You are mine. Say it.”

Her breath caught, and her thumbs hesitated. Finally she typed back, “I’m yours.”

    “Louder” he sent.

“You will hear it when you get here” she shot back, her cheeks heating.

Another pause. Then his reply. “I am leaving.”

She blinked. “You are not serious” she texted quickly.

But he did not answer right away. When his response came, it was simple. “Be ready.”

Her heart raced. She knew she had crossed a line and now she would deal with the consequence. She jumped from her bed, pacing, checking the mirror, fixing her hair. Minutes stretched out until the sound of a car outside made her rush to the window. It was him.

Her phone buzzed. “Open the door.”

She hurried down the stairs, her hands trembling. When she opened it, he was there, his expression sharp and unreadable. He stepped inside without a word, closing the door behind him.

“What were you thinking” he asked, his voice low but filled with heat.

She swallowed. “That I wanted your attention.”

“You had it already” he said, moving closer. “But now you have all of it.”

Her pulse quickened as he reached for her phone, placing it on the table. “No more texts” he whispered. “Tonight I want you saying everything to me.”

And in that moment she knew that one risky idea had changed the night completely.
