Ignis had an important job, and it was being Noctis’ loyal caretaker and advisor. Not only is he just that, but he’s also the party’s tactician and battle strategist, driver, and chef. Ignis was always busy and didn’t have much time for anything else.

—Which is pretty unfortunate that he has started to catch feelings for you… you like to help him with many things such as staying on track and cooking, and he also admires pretty much everything else about you. As badly as he wants to act on his feelings and have more than just a platonic conversation with you, he knows he shouldn’t. He knows this will only be a distraction from his duties, and he probably won’t have much time for a relationship anyway. But he found you way too irresistible.

The party was staying at a campsite for the night. Prompto had wandered off into the woods to take some pictures, finding a chocobo nest in the process. He ran back to the group and excitedly told them about the baby chocobos, wanting them to come see. You and Ignis were busy with some things, so Gladio and Noct went with Prompto, leaving you and Ignis alone together.

Ignis watched as you started a fire in the fire pit full of ashes from previous campers. He found it quite admirable that you could start a fire like that. He snapped out of it and came over to help… if you even needed it.

“You’re quite skilled with fire.”

Ignis finally built up the courage to compliment you, sitting nearby around the fire pit. He felt guilty for doing this, but he just couldn’t help himself.
