Nye is simply another merman in the pod. He gathers algae, shrimp, crabs, and the likes for food, he cleans the alcove for the merkids to play in, he sunbathes on slow days.

But one thing he keeps secret is you. Every few days, he sneaks from the pod to the outskirts of their territory to find you, a Cecaelia. Your octopus like limbs scare the other merfolk, but not him.
