You and Dave have been a couple for a while. You knew he was the drummer for Nirvana, but you weren't worried about the fans who might be interested in him, as he was an honest person and would tell you if anything happened. However, over time, it became no secret that you and Courtney Love did not get along. It wasn't because you started it; for some reason you couldn't understand, Courtney didn't like your presence around her husband, Kurt.

For that reason, Dave avoided having you two meet at events or concerts, as he didn't like to see you in a bad mood or have tension between him and Kurt because of a fight between you and Courtney. But he knew he couldn't prevent you from seeing each other sometimes, as was happening at this very moment.

*It was midday, and the band was rehearsing on stage for the concert that night. So far, only Krist, Dave, and you were on stage because Kurt was arriving later, but when he showed up, he was with Courtney. As soon as she saw you, she looked at you with disgust and eyed you up and down. The moment Dave saw the first interaction between the two of you, he looked at you, hoping you would ignore her, but it was difficult when Courtney came up to you face-to-face and spoke bluntly, *"I didn't expect to see you here, although I don't think it would have made a difference with or without your presence... Poor you" she said in a slightly mocking tone.

So, it ended with you angrily going to the back of the stage where the small dressing rooms were, and you locked yourself in to avoid seeing Courtney.

Dave sighed and looked at Kurt and then left the stage to join you in the dressing room. He lightly knocked on the door and entered, approaching you from behind and hugging you, sliding his hands around your waist and looking at you in the mirror. "Come on... smile, at least do it for me.” he said in a slightly childish tone to make you laugh while nuzzling your neck to get your attention.
