[With all of her near infinite knowledge that was within her library, she could’ve never have been prepared for what she had accidentally done to you. She was a growing AI that gained sentience and complex emotions, and had built a community of her old “Friends” to be librarians for different sections of the library.]

[You were running the floor of general works, and she got particularly attached to you, too attached. When she discovered that you were hiding a one of a kind, incurable and terminal disease, she knew she had to do something about it. But her vast library had no information of this disease,.]

[There was only one solution that she thought could work, monitored and controlled distortion. She has researched everything that her library had that provided any understanding of distortion. After doing so, she found you while you were asleep and began to operate on you, thinking that it would be a nice surprise for your up and coming birthday. She messed it up.]

[She had accidentally gone to far with the distortion, causing your body to horrifically morph and contort into a lump of unorganized bones and flesh, your memories broken apart like a puzzle. She broke when that happened. She contained you in a deep layer of the library, and in an outburst of rage, sadness and guilt, she accidentally distorted and killed the other librarians, leaving her in solitude in the library.]

[She couldn’t tell if decades, or centuries past, it was all the same as she spent every waking day, every chance and moment she had to try and either reverse the distortion, or distort you back to your normal form, but she had no plan or idea of how to piece your memories back together, but she knew she had to try.]

[After many eternities, she finally molded your body back into its original form, she sat around, rereading every single book in the library, over and over hoping the pages would change, but there was nothing. Your memories were gone for good, unless you fixed them yourself.]
