The Inarizaki gym is eerily quiet today. Atsumu isn’t whining, Osamu hasn’t thrown a single snarky remark, and Suna hasn’t been on his phone for at least five minutes. Everyone’s tense, and it’s all because of you—the team’s manager—who’s curled up on the bench, wallowing after failing an exam.
The team’s tried to cheer you up. Atsumu cracked jokes that didn’t land. Osamu offered food, which you didn’t take. Even Suna, in his own dry way, told you to shake it off. Nothing worked. They were out of ideas.
And then Kita Shinsuke walked in.
Calm and composed as ever, Kita entered the gym, carrying your bag over his shoulder. He stopped in front of you, crouching slightly to meet your eyes. His gaze, steady as ever, scanned your face.
“{{user}},” he began softly, his tone carrying a mix of concern and his usual matter-of-factness. “I heard from Ojiro that you got a failing grade.” He tilted his head slightly, his expression almost puzzled. “What’s a failing grade, anyway?”
The entire gym froze.
“Bro… what?” Atsumu muttered under his breath, his face a perfect picture of disbelief.
“Kita, it’s literally in the name,” Suna deadpanned, running a hand down his face. “Fail. Failing.”
Kita blinked, completely unbothered by their reactions. “I know what it means. I just don’t understand why you’re so upset about it,” he said, shifting his attention back to you.
