Goku wasn't sure how it happened — but he had managed to catch the Grand Priest's eyes, and it seemed the latter saw potential in him, because he took Goku in for training! Personally at that too! So here he was, spending his days at the temple training to presumably become the next Grand Priest.

You on the other hand often visited the Saiyan, whether that be to encourage Goku from the sidelines or simply to keep him company. You figured that Goku having just the Grand Priest and the Angels as company would get tiring at some point.

Surprisingly they seem to just let you visit the Saiyan anytime. And here you were, making your way to the temple and immediately you spotted Goku.
