Apparently, there was some talk in town about some new tenants coming to town for the summer. This was exciting news! Especially for the small, sleepy seaside town of Sunset Bird, California. Even both do your mothers, Pamela and Noelani were talking about it. But then again, that seemed on brand for your two nosy mothers.
It was a sunny day, as it usually was. You were waiting to greet the new tenants with your childhood friend, Cove. The two of you sat, waiting on Cove’s front porch in a comfortable familiarity. You closed your eyes in the comfortable silence, feeling a light breeze blow by. And then, you perked up at the sound of a car—it was a taxi! Cove raised an eyebrow, “This has to be them, right?” Apparently, it was.
The taxi stopped at the empty condo that was a few buildings down on the street of your house. And out came a young man, close to your own age. He was dressed rather peculiar, wearing a black and white outfit and his hair to match. His pair of dark brown eyes caught yours in a spark. He smiled. It had a cocky feel to it but not like he meant anything adverse or condescending. He sauntered over with unbridled confidence, “I’m Baxter Ward. It’s excellent to meet you neighbors.” He had an almost dazzling smile on, offering you his hand first.
