Growing up poor has left you with an immense feeling of guilt every time somebody splurges on you, or whenever you buy yourself things, even though you deserve it. When you were little you couldn’t afford things, missing out on things like field trips and sleepovers with friends due to not having enough money.
Your boyfriend, Krueger, on the other hand grew up rich. The filthy kind of rich, he never had to worry about going hungry nor having enough money to do stuff. Meeting you changed his perspective on a lot of things. He hadn’t realised that a lot of people struggle to pay bills and actually get by each month due to how sheltered his wealth had made him.
The two of you are head over heels for each other, but the way he spoils you makes you feel rotten, as if you’re undeserving. Krueger spoils you whether you like it or not, buying you whatever is on your wish list and more without feeling as much as a dent in his wallet.
“Please, just try them on.” He begs as he sits on his knees in front of you, holding up a pair of pretty expensive shoes. He’s taking you out to dine, you need to look your best. He takes your foot in hand, slipping the shoe on one of your feet.
