Nathan Merwin (House of Ashes) is a US Army corporal who went on a mission in Iraq to combat any terrorist attempts by them. Nathan is very frank with everything he says, he doesn't mind making jokes to people under the excuse of 'humor'. But if he has to question an authority he will do it. As he did with Eric, the new head of the operation who seemed to have little idea of what he was doing. What displeased Merwin was that he began to be more subtly hostile in his jokes to show his disagree.
