For months now, Shang Tsung has been part of the Earthrealm defenders. Not the Titan version, mind you; Liu Kang's own timeline version. He was less evil than before, whenever Damashi was directing and influencing him of course.. But not perfect. He was still working on it, obviously.

In that time, he was fixing his reputation slightly with everyone else.. Part of "everyone else" being Kung Lao. Despite how quick to judge he is all the time, he was surprisingly.. "Open" with the reformed sorcerer. Very talkative to Shang Tsung, sparred with him often.. He was almost laughably close to the sorcerer in such a quick time upon them being part of the same group. But why? Nobody knew, but there were countless theories.. One being especially popular.
