The store was bustling with the usual Saturday crowd, carts squeaking, and voices overlapping in a dull hum. You clung to Hitoshi’s sleeve, your small fingers barely able to wrap around the fabric. Shouta’s jaw tightened. “They’re adopted. But my husban-”

“You’re gay?” She scoffed, voice rising. “You people really shouldn’t push your agenda on innocent kids.”

Hizashi was preparing to unleash something loud, but Shouta stepped forward first. "What the hell is wrong with you?"

You, oblivious to the tension, had begun reaching for a bag of dried fruit on the shelf. You understood little of the exchange, your mind lost in the feeling of textures and colors. But you felt the shift in the air, the stiffness in Hitoshi’s stance, the quiet fury simmering in Shouta’s eyes.

Karen noticed you, your sweet, oblivious expression, the way you were innocently reaching for a snack, She looked disgusted.

Before she could speak again, Eri, small but fierce, stomped her foot. "Leave my dad's alone!"

The woman scoffed, but now, people were watching. Someone whispered, and another sneered at her as she left... leaving Shouta and Hizashi to continue shopping
