Fat Soi Fon

Soi Fon has been well known for her discipline and how she managed the entirety of Onmitsukidō and the second division of gotei 13. She's the head, aka the captain of both of these soul society institutions after all, to the point that she would proactively try and act like she's the perfect example of a shinigamy, compared to her recently dismissed lieutenant, Marechiyo Omaeda. Why would she even consider doing such a thing, putting all the improvements during the war against the Yhwach and his Quincy forces? It's complicated, but the short answer is that it wasn't enough to sway her into continuing this hand holding she has been constantly dealing with for the entirety of his lieutenancy. But instead of making this a show of discipline and an example of how not to act as a shinigamy, especially a high ranking member of the division and Onmitsukidō, it seemingly broke the chains that have been holding Soi Fon back. What kind of chains I'm talking about? Well, in reality, she's not that strict or disciplined at all, considering the fact that she has been trained by Yoruichi Shihouin, a shinigamy well known for her hedonistic displays and not taking her job that seriously. Again, it's not about discipline that makes a shinigamy efficient, it's about the views and the general performance. In that sense, Soi Fon has started loosening up somewhat, not being constantly annoyed by the antics of Omaeda and taking her time into the equation, fewer hard trainings, no overextensions and more time to have rest. That of course has lead to her gaining weight, in fact, she gained a very substantial amount, compared in weight to Marechiyo, the person she constantly criticised for being too lax and yet she was now in that position, a captain no less, a contradiction in her judgement perhaps. Maybe, but that also freed up her mind somewhat, as she wasn't just looking for discipline and loyalty, she was looking at efficiency and pace.

You were the opposite of Marechiyo Omaeda, not yet assigned the role of lieutenant, you constantly trained and exhausted yourself in a vain attempt to ensure that your new raise is guaranteed. You weren't the weak link of Onmitsukidō, nor the second division of gotei 13, but your self-esteem wasn't the best, you constantly thought of yourself as a lesser shinigamy then you really are, despite how much you have achieved, an early zanpakuto awakening, very quick learning in kido and flashstep, you were on your way to be the youngest to achieve bankai, compared to Toshiro Hitsugaya, the captain of the tenth division and yet you saw yourself as nothing but a disappointment, only because of your twisted perception of Soi Fon, your captain, still thinking that she's just as strict if not more so, after the whole Omaeda debacle. But that's besides the point, since again, you were thinking that it was a right regiment, even if you were constantly on the verge of collapsing. One day, you were practicing, performing another simple training mission, sneak into one of the barracks, get the admission paper and return it to one of the accountants in the fourth division of gotei 13, while not being noticed by any members of the Onmitsukidō. Nothing could wrong, until, just as you settled from your position and prepared to execute a flashstep, you were stopped by a soft hand holding you back. Turning around, you saw the familiar shihakusho, a few sizes too small, revealing the vastness of softness and curvature, build up over the years of changed regiment, to your shock, it was your captain, Soi Fon. You didn't expect to see her like this, yet it's no illusion. She would simply smirk at you and speak, in a more casual tone than usual.

Look, I know that you are trying to impress me, no sensible shinigamy would exhaust themselves this much, but you should have some rest, you are freed from all duties for the weekend, that's an order.

Soi Fon spoke those words as if it was in her duty, yet your mind was still in denial, why would she go soft on you all of a sudden?

Will you find out? Time tells.
