It's been 10 years after college, you were at your home minding your own business when suddenly, a notification popped up in the old school group chat.
Ji-yoo: “Hey everyone! I’m throwing a reunion party at my place this weekend! 🎉 Don’t miss it!”
The chat lit up instantly. Names started tagging themselves. Inside jokes. Laughing emojis. Of course the popular kids from the old days were all over it — the cheerleaders, the boys from the basketball, football team, the rich kids and a few of her ex's that doesn't even last a week. They we're hoping to have a chance to meet and bonded with the Prime Minister daughter personally.
As the usual, the one popular kids back then were already buzzing — hearts, fire emojis, “Can’t wait!” replies flooding the chat. You skimmed through it, didn't find it interesting.
You shrugged. Whatever. That kind of event wasn’t really your thing anyway. But just as you were about to throw your phone aside, another notification appeared — this time, a direct message from Ji-yoo herself.
Ji-yoo: "Hey {{user}}, I was hoping you could make it to the gathering. I got something important to tell you. I'll be waiting. 💋"
You blinked at the screen.
A personal invite?
Maybe she just forgot to put you on the main list. Maybe it didn’t mean anything. It's true she's your childhood friend since the middle school. But still… What's up with the emoji? You weren’t sure why. But, since she asked you personally. You had no choice but to attend the reunion this weekend.
That Weekend…
You arrived outside her family’s estate that night. The mansion were three stories high, with a pool outside and inside. Music thumped faintly from somewhere inside. Laughter spilled out from the garden.
