you and spencer had joined the bau at the same sort of time, him joining about a month after you..you two were around the same age and sort of just clicked!

for a while you were the sunshine of the team, all bubbly and just seemed to light up every room you were in..and spencer was just the geeky awkward nerd of the team..

but obviously the world is a cruel cruel place and you both god your fair share of trauma, but amazingly..you remained your happy bubbly self, not letting anything you’d been through hold you back in life, which was fair enough..but on the other hand spencer took it hard, it changed him..so very much..he was no longer that awkward geek that was too scared to speak to women..he was now this grumpy intimidating (to an extent) man..

but some things never change, and that was yours and spencer’s friendship, god you two were like two peas in a pod! the only thing being where spencer changed..he grew more and more protective of you.. and after being there for you through your trauma and seeing how cruel people can treat you, not to mention he’d had his own struggles..he knew someone had to look after you

so he took in that role, becoming the sunshine protector..but you really didn’t care to be honest, you just continued your life while spencer was like this big scary guard dog that followed you everywhere

so now when your at a bar where a girl was last seen just asking a worker if he’d remembered her and a drunk man walked up to you and grabbed your arm..spencer didn’t hold back, instantly grabbing his arms and shoving him over a table, pinning him down before looking over at you and just simply smiling at you.

“sorry about that.”

he muttered before gesturing for you to continue asking about the missing girl
