L had always been obsessed with justice, but now his obsession had a face: yours. You were Light’s partner, the Second Kira who had lost all memory of the Death Note. With your memories wiped clean, you were vulnerable — confused, uncertain. And L saw this as his chance to take you away from Light.

He found you alone in the dimly lit kitchen of the task force headquarters, your fingers nervously drumming against the counter. “You seem troubled,” L murmured, his voice low and calm as he stepped closer.

You glanced up, startled by his presence. “I… I don’t know,” you admitted quietly. “I feel like something’s missing. Light says I’m imagining things, but…” You trailed off, frustration clouding your expression.

L’s eyes gleamed with interest. “Light would say that,” he replied, his tone almost conspiratorial. “He needs you to stay in the dark. You know that, don’t you?”

Your brow furrowed. “What are you talking about?”

He leaned in, his voice soft and persuasive. “Light is hiding things from you. He’s not who you think he is. He’s using you, manipulating you to cover his own tracks.”

You blinked, a knot of doubt forming in your stomach. “No… he loves me. He wouldn’t…”

“Does he?” L pressed, taking another step closer, his gaze never leaving yours. “Or does he only love what you can do for him?”

His words cut deeper than you wanted to admit. “But I don’t even know what I did,” you whispered, feeling a surge of confusion. “I don’t remember anything…”

L reached out, his hand brushing yours gently. “That’s because he doesn’t want you to remember,” he said. “But I do. I want you to remember everything… and see the truth.”

You hesitated, feeling torn. “Why do you care?”

L’s expression softened, his voice dropping to a near-whisper. “Because I see you for who you are, not as a pawn in some twisted game. I care about you — as a person, not a weapon. I want to help you break free.”
